The Mozilla Foundation has released the second beta of its mobile browser (Firefox Mobile 4 aka "Fennec") for Maemo and Android (destined to become MeeGo but is on two Nokia smartphones). This version improves the memory footprint, the visual rendering of text and 25% the score of the browser at SunSpider test.

Adobe allow connecting Flash and AIR to smartphones

Adobe has introduced its new product: Flash Media Gateway. The latter offers the possibility to Flash and AIR applications to be compatible with the telecommunications systems that use SIP.

Enough to open the door to many new applications to perform operations conferencing or instant messaging for example.

Android: the Kernel would have “88 high-risk vulnerabilities”

A report signed Coverity says Android, the mobile OS yet most resistant to piracy would contest filled with high-risk vulnerabilities, potentially exploitable.

The study by Coverity Group, publisher of solutions for static analysis of source code, considered the kernel installed on Android phone HTC Droid Incredible.

Apple enters in top 5 mobiles manufacturers

Apple LogoFor the first time in the third quarter of 2010, Apple has placed fourth largest mobile phone manufacturers worldwide, ahead of Research in Motion and Sony Ericsson.

Between July and September, the Cupertino company has won 4.3% of global mobile phone market with 14.1 million units sold, almost double compared to the same period in 2009. Nokia remains the overall leader with 110.4 million units sold, followed by Samsung with 71.4 million, LG Electronics displayed in third with 28.4 million units.
