Joomla Beta 4 available for download
The Joomla Project is proud to announce the immediate availability of Joomla 1.6 beta 4 (download). IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a beta version and is not intended to run any type of production site. It is intended to be used for evaluation purposes only.
Since the Joomla 1.6 beta 3 release on Jun 14, we have fixed approximately 103 issues in the tracker. Much of this progress is directly related to the stepped up efforts of the Joomla! Bug Squad. Thanks for all your hard work in bringing us one increment closer to stable!

This is the fourth in our series of continuous betas. Beta 5 will be released on July 12, 2010.

WordPress New Theme: Twenty Ten
Over the weekend, WP team turned on a new theme called Twenty Ten. Twenty Ten is a big deal for WP team — it’s their first update to the “default” theme (the one you see when you start a new blog) on WordPress.com. Their goal with Twenty Ten was to create something stylish, customizable, simple, and most of all, readable.
Since every new WordPress.com user will be seeing Twenty Ten, WP team wanted to design an example of what a WordPress theme can do — that meant inventing some new features as well as utilizing a few that you may not know about yet.

TYPO3 4.4 beta 1 released
The first beta release also means that 4.4 is now feature complete, and in order to keep the aimed release date, we've had to cut down on some improvements and features, which are postponed to 4.5, coming in late 2010. Nevertheless, this release is packed with some amazing visual changes as well as some cool modifications under the hood:

Python 2.7 is now available in beta
The beta of Python 2.7 has just been put online by its developers. This latest version of Python 2.x brings many new features, unlike the later versions that are no more than patches (bug-fix-only-mode) until the arrival of version 3.0 of the language.
Among the new features in this release 2.7, we note in particular:
- Ordered dictionaries
- A module input / output (io) much faster
- Views of dictionaries
- A module sysconfig

PHP6 suspended
For many days the eyes of the developers were facing the future of PHP 6. Rasmus Lerdorf hand a statement to announce that construction of the version 6 was deadlocked and therefore this branch has been stopped.
The decision of this difficult choice is caused by the integration of Unicode, which shows that this site is harder to implement than forecast.
Of course the contributors in this industry want to leave a little time to find a new trend.
Regarding other developments that would occur with PHP 6 are
- Improvement of Object Oriented Programming
- Improved security and functionality
- Evolution of deposit PECL
- Various improvements
These points are still valid and should be integrated in future versions
The iPhone 4.0 will be multi-tasks
The criticism most commonly made to the iPhone is its inability to handle multi-task. More precisely, the device is capable, but Apple prevents the execution of this feature. Indeed, it is currently not possible to use multiple applications simultaneously, except iPod, mail, SMS and Safari.
This is to preserve the batteries of their aircraft and to make the iPhone a mobile very simple to use (some newcomers have trouble finding it when multiple programs are running in parallel).
The problem is that all competitors to Apple smartphones offer multi-tasking. Recently, Motorola has released comparative advertising between the iPhone and his Droid, attacking on this point.
The developers feel bridled, and users begin to feel cramped for not being able, for example, listen to music by sending an e-mail.
Apple has therefore decided to celebrate the release of the next operating system of the device (the 4.0, due this summer) to open the doors of multi-tasking to its consumers

PuSH
Like rssCloud, PuSH is a way for services that subscribe to updates from your blog (think Google Reader, Bloglines or Netvibes) to get updates even faster. In a nutshell, instead of having to periodically ask your blog if there are any updates they can now register to automatically receive updates each time you publish new content. In most cases these updates are sent out within a second or two of when you hit the publish button.
Today, WordPress.com's team has turned on the PuSH support for over more than 10.5 million blogs.
