Chrome OS Is Getting Deep Flash Integration

Adobe and Google announced a partnership that integrates Flash right into future builds of Chrome. At a time when Flash is under fire from both Apple and HTML5 advocates, this is a huge win for the technology. But one thing that wasn’t clear from Google’s post on the matter (and Adobe’s comment to us) is what this means for the upcoming Chrome OS.

Student application for Google Summer of Code is now open

Yesterday evening Google opened the student application phase for Google Summer of Code 2010. Students can now start handing in applications for projects they want to work on during the summer.

At TYPO3, you can find a list of project ideas our community has come up with. It's also worth re-checking the ideas page as some additions have been made since we created those pages for this years Google Summer of Code.

Sun VirtualBox 3.1.6 update

VirtualBox 3.1.6 is out. Nothing really new to the program if it is slightly improved stability and fixed many bugs.

The virtualization of Linux distributions has also been central to the efforts of development teams.

In short, this is a minor update. But who sends a major message. The virtualization solution from Sun continues to enjoy the support of the new company owner. In other words, Oracle will take an indirect response to those who worried about the future of VirtualBox after the takeover of the publisher.

VirtualBox 3.1.6 is available (Windows, Mac, Linux (32 and 64 bit) on this page. The tool is also compatible with Solaris / OpenSolaris.

Microsoft will release this afternoon urgent patch for Internet Explorer, which corrects several security vulnerabilities

Microsoft announced yesterday the online release this afternoon of an urgent update for versions 6 and 7 of Internet Explorer.

The proposed patch out of cycle patch Tuesday (a set of patches released on the second Tuesday of each month), is to correct flaws that affect all versions of Internet Explorer including IE8, and on all operating systems including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Microsoft did not give details of these vulnerabilities are classified as critical and said that this patch will concern in particular a flaw in versions 6 and 7 of Internet Explorer, but it also includes fixes for 9 other faults that also affect the version 8 browser.

MonoDroid project brings .NET on Android

This is not a scoop. NET is becoming more widespread. Today, the framework from Microsoft could affect Android, the Java platform of his great rival Google, thanks to a project from Novell, the Mono editor.

By enabling the deployment. NET applications on Android, will allow Novell Does Microsoft to become an alternative to Java (especially in terms of interoperability with its virtual machine) or Python?
